Hyundai Motor Group started production of the freshened 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 crossover at its new electric vehicle factory in Georgia. Assembly of the compact electric crossover begins less than two years after the Korean automaker broke ground at the 3,000-acre Metaplant site in Bryan County, outside of Savannah.

The Hyundai Metaplant has begun initial production of costumer vehicles. WSAV contacted the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) on Friday where they confirmed in a statement that they had started production.
