Aviation regulator DGCA on Monday issued an advisory to Indian airlines operating Boeing 737 planes regarding the potential risk of a jammed rudder control system.

India's DGCA has issued directives for airlines operating Boeing 737 planes. Pilots are to avoid landings in less than 150 feet visibility and undergo specific training for jammed rudders. This follows a safety alert from the US NTSB regarding potential rudder failures.

The DGCA has issued an advisory to all airlines operating Boeing 737 aircraft, instructing them to address concerns highlighted in a US investigation report over a “potential risk” of a malfunction in the rudder control system.

As per DGCA directions, operators of the aircraft have been directed to incorporate specific exercises into Recurrent Training and IR/PPC that simulate scenarios involving a jammed or restricted rudder control system,
