Place kicker Matthew Wright, a Lampeter-Strasburg grad, signs with the 49ers
Matthew Wright is back in the NFL. The 28-year-old place kicker signed with the San Francisco 49ers Tuesday. He is replacing the injured Jake Moody, who was hurt Sunday in the 49ers' loss to Arizona. Wright got the job after beating out Randy Bullock, Riley Patterson, Anders Carlson and Matt Coghlin at a 49ers tryout, as reported by ESPN.com.
