Costco said in its fourth quarter earnings call that the company has cut prices on some of its private label Kirkland Signature items.

Costco announced price reductions on several Kirkland Signature products during its fourth-quarter earnings call, despite a recent membership fee increase.

Gold has never been more expensive. That hasn’t stopped shoppers from snapping up gold bars sold by Costco Wholesales.The discount chain started selling one-ounce gold bars on its website and in stores last year.

The big-box chain is now selling Swiss-made 1 oz. platinum bars for $1,089.99 on its website, but a Costco membership is required for purchase. The bar features Lady Fortuna, the Roman goddess of prosperity, according to the manufacturer’s website.

The company sold more than $100 million in gold bars in a three-month period between September and November 2023. It's betting that platinum will do just as well.
