Liam Payne's mum, Karen has issued a heartbreaking statement following the death of her 'baby boy' earlier this week after he fell from his hotel balcony

"I'm incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it's a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favourite memory I have so far."

Payne skyrocketed to fame after auditioning for the British show X factor in 2008, and returned in 2010 when he was recruited to be a member of the boy band One Direction. Created by Simon Cowell, the group consisted of Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik.
