An Israeli airstrike on a school building in central Gaza has killed at least 17 people, according to a local hospital. Al-Awda hospital told AFP and Reuters that the strike on Thursday hit the Al-Shuhada school in the Nuseirat refugee camp.

CAIRO, Oct 24 (Reuters) - At least 17 Palestinians, including children, were killed on Thursday in an Israeli strike on a school in Nuseirat camp in the central part of the Gaza Strip, where people displaced by the fighting were sheltering, Nuseirat's Al-Awda hospital said.

Gaza's civil defence agency said 12 people were killed in an Israeli air strike on Thursday on a school housing displaced people.
