SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch is facing a new challenge as she is set to appear before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) amid scrutiny from the U.S. short-seller firm Hindenburg and Congress. Reports indicate that Buch may present her case before the PAC on October 24,

Adani row; key officials to testify on October 24 as controversy over SEBI chief Madhabi Puri Buch’s alleged links with Adani Group intensifies.

Members of the committee, sources said, will ask questions on the “impartial functioning of the SEBI in investigating the allegations against the Adani Group of Companies”.

In addition to SEBI and TRAI chiefs, top officials from the Ministry of Finance (Department of Economic Affairs) and Ministry of Communications have also been asked to appear before the PAC. The official agenda for the October 24 meeting states that it will include a "briefing by Audit followed by oral evidence of representatives" from these ministries as well as SEBI,

PAC to review top regulatory authorities, SEBI and TRAI heads summoned, amid controversy over SEBI chairperson's alleged links.

Top officials of the Ministry of Finance, (Department of Economic Affairs) and Ministry of Communications have also been asked to appear before the key parliamentary panel.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has also summoned senior officials from the Department of Revenue to discuss GST collections and the recent notices sent to companies.
