Junior doctors and medical students, protesting against the RG Kar rape-murder case, have announced a 12-hour hunger strike from 9 am to 9 pm tomorrow. The protesters said that additionally, six of them will also sit on an 'indefinite' hunger strike.

The letter, which has so far got 47 signatories, said that doctors were concerned that the health of their colleagues -- who are protesting for better work conditions in the aftermath of the rape and murder -- is “deteriorating tremendously fast”.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has submitted a chargesheet in the rape and murder case of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College, reported PTI, citing officials. The names included in the chargesheet have not been disclosed yet.
