DALLAS — The Dallas Stars announced Thursday it had signed Jake "Otter" Oettinger to a new eight year, $66 million contract extension with an average annual value (AAV) of $8.25 million. The new extension begins in the 2025-26 season and runs through the 2032-33 season, the team said in a release.

The 25-year-old goalie could have become a restricted free agent after this season. He signed a three-year, $12 million contract ($4 million) AAV with Dallas on Sept. 1, 2022.
