While engaged in a scuffle with Florida Panthers winger Evan Rodrigues, Jones accidentally slashed his hockey stick at a referee’s arm. You could see the look on both of the players’ faces after Jones made accidental contact with the official instead of Rodrigues’ stick. Another referee quickly called a foul on Jones for the incident.

You certainly can’t do that, Max Jones. Boston’s left winger was engaged in a post-whistle scuffle when he accidentally cracked down on the arm of referee Devin Burg while attempting to chop at the stick of Florida’s Evan Rodrigues during the Bruins’ 6-4 loss to the Panthers in Tuesday’s season opener.

Unfortunately, this led new Bruins forward Max Jones to take an ugly penalty against the Cats. While in a scrum with Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues, Jones went to slash the Panthers forward's stick.
