On his way to the NBA, Green was able to count on his extreme bursts of quickness and jumping ability to get the shots he wanted. He had come to the Rockets almost directly from high school, having played only a partial G League season before he was the third pick of the 2021 draft.

In Monday's preseason opener, Green finished with 21 points, three rebounds, and a block. What was most impressive was Green's 7-for-14 shooting (50.0%) from the field, and his 4-for-9 shooting (44.4%) from deep.
