The National Weather Service warned residents to shelter-in-place as conditions deteriorated dramatically Wednesday afternoon and Hurricane Milton roared toward Florida's beleaguered west coast.

People in Florida and beyond were keenly watching the path of Hurricane Milton on Wednesday, now on approach to the Gulf Coast. Milton's predicted track made a shift to the south on most forecast models, but still could edge back to the north before and after it makes landfall.
