Governors in several U.S. states have ordered flags flown at half-staff today in recognition of the one-year anniversary of the terrorist attack on Israel, a gesture of mourning and acknowledgment of the ongoing humanitarian suffering in Gaza and across the Middle East.

The Israel Defense Forces said it intercepted most of a barrage of rockets fired toward Tel Aviv by Iran-backed Hamas, as fighting escalated Monday after a year of war.

The U.S. military has stood with Israel since Hamas' attack into the country on Oct. 7, 2023, and suffered attacks on Middle Eastern positions as well.

October 7th marks one year since the Hamas terror attack where over 250 hostages were kidnapped. The attack killed 1,200 people, mostly civilians.
