Police said the bicyclist and driver exchanged words when the driver saw the bicyclist going the wrong way down Miner Street, and the bicyclist ended up stabbing the driver.

The Des Plaines Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred Friday in the 1500 block of Miner St. in downtown Des Plaines near the Metra train station.  At approximately 12:15 p.m., officers responded to the scene for a report of a stabbing.

Police in suburban Des Plaines were searching for a bicyclist who stabbed a driver during a road rage incident on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

A 53-year-old Skokie man told police that he and a man on a bicycle got into a dispute as he drove westbound on Miner Street through downtown around noon. That’s when he says the cyclist started punching him and then slashed him several times.
