Nick Kyrgios will finally return to Grand Slam action at the 2025 Australian Open after vowing to put his ‘brutal’ injury problems behind him. The divisive star has not swung a racket in anger competitively since early 2023, following separate surgeries for knee and wrist problems.

Nick Kyrgios has confirmed he will return to tennis at the upcoming Australian Open. The 2022 Wimbledon finalist has not played a single match for 492 days while battling serious knee and wrist injuries. His last match dates all the way back to June 13, 2023, when he lost in straight sets to China’s Yibing Wu.

Australian Open chief Craig Tiley said on Thursday he expects to see Australian former Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios back in action at Melbourne Park for the season-opening Grand Slam in January.
