Pillory Beach is one of the prettiest beaches I have ever seen. The water is fairly shallow, crystal clear, and has the most beautiful shades of blue and turquoise. A coral reef around the islands m… Full review by Deborah S

I’ve been to Turks/Caicos a few times and keep going back to this beach. Ask a taxi driver to take you to the Bohio Dive resort (it was closed when I was there) last but peaceful and perfect! I will… Full review by jpannini
Those who took a taxi to Pillory Beach did you prearrange a pick up to return to the ship or did you call from the dive resort? We are thinking of taking a taxi to the lighthouse for a photo op and then getting dropped off at either Pillory Beach or Governor Beach . Trip is Jan 28th.

When we went, there was a person asking if we needed a ride back to the cruise center. There is a restaurant/hotel on site so I am pretty sure they can contact a taxi driver to take you back to the ship. Just in case there isn't anyone on site. I would go to Pillory Beach. Governor Beach is closer to the ship. We rented a mini van at the island for $80.00 by Tony's Car Rentals. (649)231-1806 Good luck!
How easy was it to find a taxi back to the dock? We can either pay for a "tour" of $30 /pp that includes a quick tour of island, beach drop off and pick up, or pay the $16/pp for a taxi. Also, any rentals of paddle boards, etc at this beach? 4 teens who won't want to just "sun." And last question----how rocky is the water (do we need water shoes)? Thanks!

I can help some. We stayed on the island for a week - and visited both the cruise center and pillory beach - but had a rental car on the island. In my experience, there aren't a lot of taxis patrolling this part of the island (although if there were, it would be when a ship was at dock). If it were me, I'd go for the sure-bet of having someone coming back to get me. I didn't notice any rentals in this area, although we were there to jump on a boat to go Deep-Sea Fishing - and there were only a few people on the beach - mostly laying out or playing in the sand. The beach itself is positively LOVELY and you will not need water shoes unless you have very sensitive feet. Not rocky in the slightest. Sorry for being a little bit wishy-washy on the answers!!
Hi there...my husband and I will be cruising with HAL in December...Grand Turk is a port on the itinerary. Pillory Beach looks appealing! Would appreciate any feedback re: cab fare there, overall experience, etc. Thanks!!

I would go to Govenor's Beach instead.Take a taxi($5-6/pp).You can walk it,but if it's in the 80's its hot-also have to weave your way over to the beach.
We are a taking a crude in December and making choices on excursions in Grand Turks. How do get there from the cruise center? Is this part of the hop on hop off tour?

The Cruise Center is a short walk from the Ship. There is a beach & Pool right there, but depending on what other ship is in Port,it gets crowded. Usually 1 Carnival/HAL ship are docked@the same time-5,000k passengers.Hop on Hop off is around $20/pp. Taxi to & from the beach less expensive. Bon Voyage!
